Members are Nurse of the day for a very brief session, is that No No, not here. Pages I'm going to wait and introduce you all tomorrow when we have more of our member here just without having you come forward, I want to say we are glad to have you here this week with us, and we're not going to have any votes today so a number of folks are in a meeting that is still going on and few other places but, you will be working some committees and you will be here for sessions, we will properly introduce you and call your name out tomorrow when we have everyone here for so when that person votes, but thanks for being with us. Members we are going to move house bill 760 from today's calender to tomorrow's calendar you all share to receive the notice from the rules chairman their would be no recorded vote, their is still some work going on on that bill. Before I go into notices and announcements I did also, would be re-missed if I did not know recognize the special guest we have with us on motion of Representative Sarah Stevens of Surry County the Chair is happy to extend the courtesies of the Gurally to Debby Stathan, Julia Hether who is serving as a house this week. Miss heather could you stand so we could welcome you with us today This week of course, we got through cross over, had some interesting bills that we debated late into the night, early in the morning and so now we are back. This week the budget process is ongoing and the appropriations committee and the appropriations chairs are meeting pretty much all day long and it's the Chairs intention that what we do has some bills we need to take up we are going to try to maintain it will like committee calenders would like session calenders for the next couple of weeks for scheduling purpose it is the target right now that the house will pass its budget the week of May the 18th. The estimate right now, 2nd and 3rd readings on May 20th and 21st I believe are the days that's our target. We know those things can change that's where we are we are supposed to get our revenue numbers tomorrow we thought we would have the revenue numbers Friday they have been pushed back it was pushed back to yesterday then today and now we are being told it's going to be tomorrow so obviously we need to know how much money we have before we could spend so that's one of the ways right now but the committee is most of your own appropriations you know you are already working right now, and we're going to continue to go in that direction but, so that's the plan, we'll probably go into again there's a number of bill's we're going to take up that will be on the calendar beginning, will be a pretty light calendar this week at this point. For what purpose does the gentleman from Cumberland, Representative Glazier rise? To ask the Chair question please? Gentleman may state his inquiry. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. And I'd just wandered onto that schedule then would it be likely or at least to that schedule is maintained that next week would be moving the appropriations
process through the sub committees with the sub committees vote near the end of the week, with anticipation. I don't want to speak for my [xx] chairs so I'm giving you however with this point but I know they want to move through these quickly as the can, you know how these thing are? It could very easily get delayed some we want make sure we take the due diligence in time we need [xx] process. Thank you Mr Speaker. But just kind of go on where we're with that being said I think we're ready for notices and announcements. Notices and announcements, for what purpose does the gentleman from Cumberland representative Floyd rise? Inquiry chair. The gentleman may state his inquiry. Mr speaker I appreciate the kind words that you pass upon us could you give us the calendar for this week or what do you project it would look like for the remaining of the week? I'm sorry I din't understand the gentleman could you give us the calendar for the remaining week. The calendar for the rest of the week? I think we'll give it 2:00 o'clock tomorrow for session that's Wednesday, Thursday we haven't determined yet we're going to look and see where we're there's a number of committees and the [xx] affairs I've told them they'll be able to have their meeting at noon on Thursday so we may have session earlier that morning maybe after that we'll just, we're going to play by here make sure the appropriations sub committees have the time they need to do their work. I did want also to make sure we recognized someone that's a guest on the gallery. On behalf of all the members of Mecklenburg County delegation the Chair is happy to extend the courtesies of the gallery to LaWana Mayfield who was a member of Charlotte City Council, Mr. Mayfield would you please stand so we could welcome you, thank you. For what purpose does the gentleman from Gaston, Representative Bumgardner rise? Inquiry the Chair. Gentleman may stage his inquiry. Mr. Speaker did you mention that the article that's on the internet right now about pay and off the debt, would you speak about that just for a minute? Thank you for that, I'll be glad to just had an opportunity to come back from the governors office, from the capital rather, where the governor had a press conference with a number of members of House and the Senate, we had a bill as many of you know last year some here voted for it, some didn't but the the upside of that is, it was the Unemployment Reform Bill, the upside is we had about a $2.8 billion deficit to the federal government, and that deficit has now extended to 2.8 billion is zero we put that debt off so that's a huge accomplishment, and I think it's and I guess the thing is whatever folks did on that issue at least we can all be happy that we don't have a $2.8 billion debt to the federal so we hope Washington will start taking hands from North Carolina going forward. We do have one other city council man from Charlotte Ed Driggs is here, Mr. Driggs thank you for being with us also sir, glad to have you. And if Charlotte would like to take notes how we do things here too we'll be glad to send some information. What purpose does the gentleman from New Hanover Representative Davis rise?
